A Northern Tasmanian man has been arrested and charged with several drug and traffic offences following a routine roadside stop.

Scottsdale police pulled the South Launceston man over in Legerwood on February 25, just before 3pm.

He was driving a blue Subaru on the Tasman Highway when he was intercepted for a routine traffic stop.

Police said the man tested positive for illicit drugs and a search of his car allegedly revealed he was in possession of more than two kilograms of cannabis.

In a statement, police said the man was arrested and charged with drug and traffic offences.

He was bailed to appear before the Launceston Magistrates Court on April 22, 2026.
