Despite North Launceston fielding two players with a combined 557 games of AFL experience on Saturday, it was Longford who emerged victorious in their premier league clash.
The Tigers came away 15.6 (96) to 7.11 (53) victors, exacting some revenge after last year's 137-point defeat at the hands of the Bombers in round one.

"We put it on our group in the lead-up, obviously it's always important to get a good start to the year but this one meant a little bit more considering what happened 12 months ago," Longford coach Kacey Curtis said.
"We were aware of the changes that happened to them, but also our group too, we feel like we've improved and developed and it was pleasing to show glimpses of that today.
"We've still got a lot to work on, but some passages of play and how we were able to defend, especially early in the game, was really pleasing."
After Kamdyn McIntosh played for North Launceston last week, Saturday saw Trent Cotchin and Brandon Ellis don the sash, showing their class on several occasions.
"It was a real privilege [to play them]," Curtis said.
"It's a great initiative by North to be able to do that. They've had a lot of changes, so to be able to do that in the first two weeks is a credit to their club.
"It adds some excitement, not just to the club, but the whole league and it's something that the league needs to continue to build altogether - I thought it was awesome."

Curtis was impressed with recruit Isaac Thompson, while key forward Michael Larby kicked six goals in the win.
Longford erased last year's round-one demons with the first two goals of the contest, which North answered back through coach Allan O'Sign and recruit Josh Bosveld.
But from there, the first half belonged to Longford on the scoreboard.
The Tigers booted two more in the first term to take an 11-point lead before kicking three unanswered in the second quarter through Isaac Thompson, Mitch Bennett and Ethan Hubbard.
Brandon Ellis looked dangerous throughout the second term, producing two penetrating kicks towards goal, but the Bombers were only able to add two behinds in the quarter.
Rain began to fall during the second term, and fittingly produced some spotfires as players burnt some pent-up pre-season energy with a few scuffles.
One of them resulted in Hubbard's goal, putting him in the goal square.
Going into the main break 29 points up, Longford players shouted "we love this weather" as they exited the ground, running around the back of UTAS Stadium's construction zone to get to their change rooms.
The ground was much brighter after the break as the lights fully kicked in and a bit of sun shone through before Trent Cotchin provided the Bombers some spark.
He snapped the Tigers' five-goal streak with a smooth and quick pick-up and goal, but Longford quickly replied through Larby, with the tall left on his own in the forward 50.
He took several steps before steadying and rightfully trusting his boot from 40 metres out, celebrating in front of the crowd with aplomb.
A plethora of experience combined for the Bombers' next goal as Cotchin found O'Sign, who excellently hit up assistant coach Jacob Kerr.
Kerr then kicked truly to put the Bombers within 21 points as the home side looked to warm into the contest.

They kicked the next as the Mansell brothers combined for Eliah to find the big sticks, and when O'Sign whacked one through on his left, they were only down by eight.
An Oliver Chugg major ended the streak and Hubbard quickly added some much-needed momentum, heading into three-quarter-time 19 points up.
At the break, Longford coach Curtis told his players they'd worked too hard to give this one up and implored them to go at North Launceston and finish the job.
To the delight of the vocal Longford crowd, Larby marked and goaled from the top of the goal square to extend that margin early in the fourth.
As the Bombers looked to mount a comeback, Ellis and Cotchin combined, although the premiership captain was unable to find the big sticks and could only manage a behind.
A North teammate then found the middle as the comeback almost looked on, but Mitchell Bennett, Jett Maloney, Larby and Dylan Headland were able to put the finishing touches on a Tigers win.
In the round's other matches, Launceston defeated Deloraine 13.14 (92) to 4.2 (26) and South Launceston defeated Scottsdale 29.21 (195).
