Launceston stalwart Georgia Hill has no doubt Tasmania's entry into the VFLW will keep top female talent in the game as she prepares to help lead the Devils into a new era.
Hill, who returned to the Blues alongside fellow Devils Meg Radford and sister Kelsie in Saturday's 32.17 (209) to 0.0 (0) thrashing of Longford on Saturday, has been named the VFLW side's vice captain under skipper Meghan Gaffney.

Having witnessed some players exit the game due to a lack of pathway through her career, Hill said the Devils are the boost the women's game has been craving.
"With the VFL there, girls will see how good it is and want to play at that level," she said.
"We're seeing participation levels grow in juniors too because they think they can go all the way to VFL. Those girls who are older or not quite sure where they want to go with footy or prefer the social scene, there's the chocolates there in the VFL that will definitely keep them in footy.
"Back in 2017 when I was playing Coates (Talent League) I wish there was this level, because there really was nowhere to go unless you got drafted."
One of the NTFA's best players for a long period, Hill said the step up to VFLW has been big, and will take plenty of lessons back to help her Blues teammates.
"The NTFA compared to the VFL is a crazy step up, which I've loved," she said.

"I love there's that pathway there now for young talent that are able to play at that higher level. It's really a massive step up, but I'm really glad it's there now for local women's talent.
"We've got Meg and Kelsie Hill there too, they've slotted in nicely. They've been training on the wing and dominating, they're both so fit.
"Just being around a new group of coaches and an experienced coach like Georgia (Walker, Devils VFLW coach), to take another coach's side of things back to the club and feed that into Ash (Smith, Blues coach) and the girls as well, that's going to make such a difference."

Hill is bullish about the women's chances of emulating the early success of their male counterparts at VFL level.
"It's definitely the unknown but we've been training so hard for so long now," she said.
"The coaches have been putting us through the hard yards, we feel like we're strong and going to be competitive. I feel like we're going to possibly shock some other teams, but we don't know until we know.

"Like the boys we're not sure how we'll go, but we think we can impress with what we've got.
"I definitely feel like recruiters are going to have eyes on a few of our VFLW girls, which would be awesome."
In Saturday's other Premier League clash, Scottsdale recorded its first win of the season against North Launceston 8.14 (62) to 3.2 (20).
The Devils will play a practice match against Carlton in early May.
