Nominations are now open for Equimillion 2026, with Australia's richest event exclusively for retired Thoroughbred racehorses returning to the Sydney International Equestrian Centre from Friday 2 October to Monday 5 October 2026.

Now entering its fourth year, Equimillion will once again showcase the versatility, athleticism and life after racing of the Thoroughbred, with over $1 million in Racing NSW prizemoney offered across four days of competition.

Celebrating the Year of the Horse, the 2026 event will bring together competition, entertainment, education and industry engagement under the banner Experience Equimillion - creating a destination event for competitors, owners, racing participants, families and the wider equestrian community.

Competitors will contest classes across Dressage, Show Horse, Show Jumping and Eventing, with opportunities catering for a broad range of experience levels.

Experience Equimillion

Equimillion 2026 will extend well beyond the competition arenas, with an expanded spectator and entertainment program designed to celebrate the Thoroughbred across the entire October Long Weekend.

The program will feature the Thoroughbred Showcase, bringing the indoor arena to life with equestrian entertainment, demonstrations and competition, including the Equimillion Stockman's Challenge Final, indoor polo, live music and special presentations.

Visitors will also be able to explore the Year of the Horse Equine Art Exhibition, education sessions, masterclasses, the Thoroughbred Village, partner activations and a range of food, beverage and hospitality experiences throughout the event.

Equimillion CEO LaToyah James said the fourth edition of the event represented the continued evolution of Racing NSW's commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for Thoroughbreds beyond racing.

"Equimillion is ultimately about celebrating the Thoroughbred and demonstrating just how much opportunity exists for these horses beyond their racing careers.

"In 2026, we want people to come and Experience Equimillion. Whether you are competing, involved in racing, passionate about horses or simply looking for a great day out, there will be something happening across the entire precinct.

"With over $1 million in prizemoney, new competition pathways and an expanded entertainment and education program, our fourth year is shaping up to be our most exciting Equimillion yet."

Equimillion continues Racing NSW's significant investment in the welfare and life-after-racing pathways of NSW Thoroughbreds, providing owners and riders with an aspirational competition platform while demonstrating the adaptability of the breed across a diverse range of equestrian disciplines.

Nominations for Equimillion 2026 are now open.

Competitors are encouraged to nominate early and join them at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre this October Long Weekend to Experience Equimillion - and celebrate the Year of the Thoroughbred.
