A prominent Hunter Valley family has emerged as the buyer of late fashion icon Maggie Tabberer's Bellevue Hill apartment, securing the Sydney property for $4.175 million.
The property was sold in February via Sydney Sotheby's International under a long settlement after Ms Tabberer's death at age 87 in December 2024.
Updated settlement records reveal the home was bought by the Mitchell family, owners of the Yarraman Park Stud in Scone in the Upper Hunter Valley.
Ms Tabberer, a pioneer of Australian fashion, publishing and television, purchased the three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment brand-new in 2014 for $2.05 million.
The 160-square-metre apartment has an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area, a study and a main bedroom with balcony access.
Marketing photos offered a glimpse into the Gold Logie winner's former home, showing a full-size portrait of Ms Tabberer in the dining room alongside a series of black-and-white photographs from her modelling days.
Positioned on the crest of Bellevue Hill and 100 metres from the shopping village, the apartment is one of 12 in the Belair complex.
Listing agent Michael Pallier of Sydney Sotheby's International initially scheduled the home for auction in November 2025.
The new owners have held Yarraman Park for nearly 60 years, beginning in 1968 when British-born James "Major" Mitchell bought the 3700-acre property from jockey George Moore.
His sons Arthur and Harry Mitchell now run the estate, which is one of Australia's premier thoroughbred breeding operations.
Bellevue Hill is one of Sydney's most expensive property markets.
According to Cotality data, the suburb holds a median unit value of $1.6 million, while the median house value sits at $11.01 million.
